Benihana to open in Addison Walk, Texas, continue strategic expansion

New restaurant will span 10,000 square feet, feature sushi bar

Benihana secured a lease for a new Japanese teppanyaki and sushi restaurant at Addison Walk in Addison, Texas. After the build-out of the unit is completed, Benihana will open the restaurant in early 2022, it said.

The 10,000 square-foot Addison Walk Benihana will feature 22 teppanyaki tables and a full-service sushi bar. In addition, the restaurant, which will replace a former Kobe Steaks Japanese restaurant at 5000 Belt Line Road, will include private dining rooms and a dedicated area for off-premises order fulfillment.

The Aventura, Fla.-based restaurant business continues to eye big expansion in the United States. As part of its strategic plan, the company will focus on US acquisitions and franchise development domestically. Internationally, franchise development will emphasize the Caribbean, Central American and South America.

More than 15 million guests are served across 103 locations annually, the company disclosed. Benihana, itself, has nearly 90-percent brand recognition. The company operates under the Benihana, Haru Sushi, RA Sushi, and Samurai brands.

Benihana suggested it will leverage its “impressive” sales growth over the past four years as it continues to develop locations.
