Torchy’s Tacos opens West Wichita location, fifth store in Kansas

Location has a drive-thru that serves breakfast tacos in the morning daypart

Torchy’s Tacos celebrated the grand opening of its West Wichita restaurant today, July 28, 2021. The restaurant is the second in the Wichita market and the fifth location in the state of Kansas. This follows store openings in Overland Park, Olathe and Lawrence.

The 4,000 square-foot restaurant also features a drive-thru. The menu includes fan favorites, including Crossroads and Baja Shrimp tacos, as well as Torchy’s popular Green Chile Queso.The Damn Good tacos lineup includes the Green Chile Pork, featuring pork carnitas, green chiles, and cotija cheese; and the Baja Shrimp, prepared with fried shrimp, cabbage slaw, and pickled onions.

There’s also the brand-inspired Trailer Park, harking back to the chain’s beginning in an Austin, Texas food trailer. The Trailer Park taco features fried chicken, green chiles, lettuce, pico de gallo, and cheddar jack cheese. Customers can order it “trashy” by removing the lettuce and adding Green Chile Queso.

Through the drive-thru, Torchy’s will offer breakfast tacos from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Breakfast taco choices include The Wrangler, prepared with cage-free eggs, smoked beef brisket, potato, cheese and tomatillo sauce; and the Migas made with cage-free eggs, corn tortilla strips, green chiles, avocado, pico de gallo and cheese.

Plus, management identifies the patio as a good spot for customers to relax and enjoy draft beer, margaritas and cocktails.

The drive-thru will open Sunday to Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. And Breakfast Tacos will be served from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. daily. The dining room will be open Monday to Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
