New offerings promoted with Thigh Thursday deals
Wingstop added bone-in thighs and boneless, breaded Thigh Bites to the menu, borrowed from its virtual brand, Thighstop. The chicken wing-focused QSR chain will offer the thigh menu items tossed in one of 11 signature sauces, or sans dressing.
The Dallas-based chain offers a five-piece thighs combo, a thighs Meal for 2, or 15-piece Bone-In Thigh Pack, as well.
Restaurant companies have been exploring the appeal and potential savings offered by chicken thighs, particularly in light of wholesale inflation and the volatility of chicken-wing pricing.
“When launching Thighstop as a virtual brand, we knew our fans would be excited to try thighs,” said Marisa Carona, Wingstop chief growth officer. “The response was overwhelming, and guests wanted to enjoy both their favorite Wingstop wings and new mouthwatering thighs all at once. They asked, so we’ve answered— we’re bringing it all together by adding thighs to the Wingstop menu to amplify our full flavor experience.”
To promote the new thighs in their nationwide launch, Wingstop launched Thigh Thursday. Customers ordering at Wingstop.com or through the Wingstop app on Thursdays can add regular Thigh Bites to any order for only $4.49. Alternately, they can order a Thigh Bites Meal for 2 for $13.99, which includes regular boneless Thigh Bites with up to two flavors, large fries or veggie sticks, two dips, and two 20-ounce beverages.
Wingstop operates and franchises more than 1,600 stores nationwide.
