Taffer’s Tavern opens first Metro-Washington, DC location at FedExField

Stadium opening arrives ahead of second DC-area location

Taffer’s Tavern opened a new location at FedExField, home of the Washington Football Team. The pub concept from John Taffer, star of Paramount Network’s TV show “Bar Rescue,” made its debut in the Landover, Md. stadium, in partnership with Cuisine Solutions, this past weekend.

The FedExField location features a condensed version of Taffer’s Tavern menu, including the Hot Tavern Pretzel, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Tavern Fries, Tot Roast Fries, and Roast Beef Au Jus, which is Taffer’s favorite. It took Cuisine Solutions less than two weeks to revamp the space and get ready for business. The concept touts a turnkey kitchen setup that does not require hoods or vents.

“Our Taffer’s Tavern team is always ready on game day,” said Taffer. “Washington, DC is getting its first taste of our delicious tavern food, serving many of the 44,000 fans at FedExField this past Sunday, ahead of our full-service Penn Quarter location coming soon. We served some of our most popular handhelds and signature items, which all pair perfectly with an ice-cold beer. We’re looking forward to introducing Taffer’s Tavern to fans during football season and other events at FedExField.”

Cuisine Solutions is a leading manufacturer of sous-vide foods and Taffer’s Tavern franchise partner for the Metropolitan Washington, DC area. The company completed its second conversion site, as it readies a Taffer’s Tavern opening in the Penn Quarter neighborhood, next to Capital One Arena and the popular DC Chinatown area.

Taffer’s Tavern has been working with franchise development firm Fransmart to accelerate the fledgling concept’s growth. In addition to the Metro-Washington, DC location at FedexField, the brand has opened a unit in Alpharetta, Ga. The venture boasts a pipeline of additional locations on the horizon in the Atlanta, Ga., Washington, DC, Boston, Las Vegas, and Orlando, Fla. markets.

Dan Rowe, Fransmart chief executive, added, “This stadium operation demonstrates the speed to open and flexibility of the hoodless and ventless restaurant concept. In addition to the full-service dining experience, I can see Taffer’s Tavern in other event complexes, amphitheaters, airports and more.”
