Subway adds Baja Steak & Jack sub to menu, Peppercorn Ranch, Baja Chipotle sauces

New items, including Caramel Apple Cookie, part of Eat Fresh Refresh program

Subway Restaurants added a New Baja Steak & Jack sub, Baja Chipotle sauce, Peppercorn Ranch sauce, and a Caramel Apple Cookie to the menu. The new items are part of what the chain describes as its menu transformation as a result of Eat Fresh Refresh, aimed at improving the customer journey.

The Baja Steak & Jack sub arrives as one of the sandwich-chain’s signature creations, with an enhanced steak recipe, Baja Chipotle sauce, and topped with Pepper Jack Cheese, green peppers, and red onions.

The Baja Chipotle sauce is smoky and spicy, a reflection of flavors from chipotle and guajillo peppers, and the essence of smoked paprika, cumin, oregano, garlic, onion, and lime. The new, zesty Peppercorn Ranch is a creamy blend of buttermilk, black pepper, garlic, onion and herbs, notes the Milford, Conn.-based QSR.

“The new menu updates for fall showcase the ongoing innovation our fans can expect as the brand continues its multiyear transformation journey that began in July with the Eat Fresh Refresh,” said Carrie Walsh, chief marketing officer for Subway. “With new, signature sandwich recipes, add-ons that take custom creations to the next level, as well as limited-time and exclusive menu items, Subway is destination dining for sandwich lovers.”

Subway also expanded the sweets and salty lineup. It partnered with Frito-Lay for a limited-time Buffalo Chicken Dip flavor of Lay’s Kettle Cooked chips. The Caramel Apple Cookie returned to the menu for a limited time. The fall arrival features chunks of apples blended in a dough, combined with caramel chips and caramel salted crunch, and drizzled with caramel icing.
