Ike’s Sandwiches names Irene Chao director of digital marketing
Most recently, she held the same title at Veggie Grill
Ike’s Love and Sandwiches announced the appointment of Irene Chao to the position of director of digital marketing. Chao is an experienced digital marketer with a track record at several food franchises. The Long Beach, Calif.-based sandwich’s leadership is counting on Chao’s experience in web management, apps, SEO, and social media will help elevate Ike’s to a new digital chapter.
Chao has served in several corporate roles at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Robeks Fresh Juices and Smoothies. Most recently, at Veggie Grill, she served as director of digital marketing and oversaw the chain’s loyalty program, CRM and off-premises marketing.
“With our plans to grow rapidly over the next year in new and existing markets, Irene is the perfect addition to the team to prepare Ike’s marketing technology stack for expansion,” says Renae Scott, chief marketing officer for Ike’s Love and Sandwiches. “Our brand-new app is debuting even more features in the coming months, and we’re excited to have a seasoned digital marketing lead to execute that.”
As director of digital marketing, Chao will oversee the fast casual brand’s marketing technology stack, the chain said, which was relaunched this summer.
“I’m so excited to be part of Ike’s growing digital landscape,” said Chao. “Their new app and website make it easier for and more fun for guests to order their favorite sandwich for pickup or delivery, earn rewards and connect with the brand. I plan on making strategic contributions to fully leverage the digital platforms.”
The presence of Ike’s Sandwiches is mainly in the west, and the company attributes recent expansion and visibility to an overhaul of the stack, including an enhanced loyalty program, a new website, and increased ease of digital ordering.
