Fast casual has total of 280 Chipotlanes operating in United States
Chipotle will open its first Chipotlane in Canada when it debuts its Port Coquitlam, BC restaurant October 25, 2021. Chipotlanes are the fast-casual’s digital, order-ahead pickup lanes, of which Chipotle has amassed 280 in the United States.
During the grand opening of the store at 2325 Ottawa Street, Chipotle will award the first 50 guests with Chipotle keychains and t-shirts.
“We are excited to provide Port Coquitlam guests the option to grab their digital Chipotle orders without ever leaving their car,” said Anat Davidzon, Chipotle Canada managing director. “The new location will also bring additional career opportunities to the area for residents interested in cultivating a better world through real food.”
Chipotlanes offer the convenience of ordering ahead via the Chipotle app or website and having food ready for pickup at specific times in a drive-thru option.
Currently, Chipotle has opened 25 locations across Canada and is slated to open three additional restaurants in British Columbia and Ontario prior to the end of 2021. Chipotle associates benefit from a $15 CAD minimum hourly rate in Ontario and $16 CAD minimum rate in British Columbia locations—wages that were increased in August. Chipotle also noted that it provides a path for Chipotle crew members to become a Restaurateur, the highest general manager (GM) position, in as little as three and a half years, and earn $125,000 CAD.
Amid a labor shortage, Chipotle recently unveiled a $200 CAD referral bonus for employees who refer a crew member and a $750 CAD referral bonus for employees who refer an apprentice or GM in Canada.
The store will operate from 10:45 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. seven days per week.
