Western-themed sandwich chain offers first 50 people in line on opening day $100 gift cards
Roy Rogers will open a new restaurant on the campus of the University of Maryland College Park December 2, 2021. The grand opening celebration will start at 9 a.m. and include prizes and a donation. The Stamp Student Union restaurant will feature the chain’s popular roast beef sandwiches and fried chicken.
To celebrate the opening, Roy Rogers plans to make a substantial donation to the University of Maryland Campus Pantry. In addition, the Frederick, Md.-based quick-service chain will offer a giveaway. Each of the first 50 people in line will receive a $100 gift card when the store opens.
“Whether students are dining in the food court or picking up a quick meal to-go, everyone will appreciate the variety, quality and choice we offer at Roy Rogers,” says Jim Plamondon, co-president of Roy Rogers. “Roy Rogers is ready to serve the community in College Park, and we look forward to expanding our reach and making our mark on college campuses all over the East Coast.”
The Roy Rogers University of Maryland Stamp Student Union location will offer the full menu found at traditional locations. However, limited-time menu items may not land at this college location, revealed the QSR.
Founded in 1963, Roy Rogers operates 24 company-owned restaurants and franchises 18 locations in the United States. The restaurant chain has continued to grow through a dual-company and franchised model as part of revitalization.
In the recent past, executives have refocused on the quick serve’s franchising program in earnest. In October, Roy Rogers announced it has signed a deal for 10 new restaurants in the Greater Cincinnati market with One Holland Corp.
