Fuzzy’s Taco Shop names Nick Booras SVP of franchise sales

Incoming specialist in franchising to rapidly grow four markets in the short term, while generating leads for sustainable, long-term growth

Fuzzy’s Taco Shop named Nick Booras senior vice president (SVP) of franchise sales. As the 150-unit Baja-stye Mexican fast casual continues to grow, Booras’ appointment and expanding real estate formats become pivotal.

Previously, Booras held the position of senior director of franchise development at Focus Brands. There, he sold franchises for Focus Brands’ seven units in its Southwest region. Before that role, Booras served as director of franchise development at McAlister’s Deli. While working at this Focus Brands concept, he sold franchises that accounted for over 250 units.

Prior to Focus Brands, Booras worked in franchise sales at Corner Bakery and Boston Pizza.

“Nick’s expansive network and ability to connect brands with qualified franchisees is critical to our success as we work to achieve our aggressive growth goals over the next five years,” says Paul Damico, chief executive of Fuzzy’s Taco Shop.

The incoming SVP identifies Fuzzy’s leadership team as one of the reasons he is bullish on joining the concept.

“I’ve been a big fan of the brand as a consumer for many years now, from the food to the atmosphere and environment that each location offers,” said Booras. “However, what I see as I join the team is a company that has excellent leadership and is poised for explosive growth, which is very exciting for someone in my role.”

As SVP of franchise sales, he will be sourcing multi-unit developers from inside and outside his network. In the near term, he estimates that the Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Missouri markets will grow rapidly.

“Fuzzy’s unique and flexible footprint is a big asset as it allows me the opportunity to collaborate with new franchisees and offer restaurant models that will be the best fit for each market and real estate site,” Booras explains. “Whether someone is looking for a traditional restaurant, drive-thru or a concept to fit into a space with small square footage, we are able to accommodate all of these opportunities while still focusing on what makes Fuzzy’s great.”
