Mici Handcrafted Italian to open restaurant in Southglenn, suburb of Denver

Fast casual expands within Denver market with company-owned location

Mici Handcrafted Italian, a fast-casual chain, will open a new restaurant in Southglenn, a Denver suburb, this summer. The family-owned restaurant chain will expand in the Denver area through a company-owned location.

The Southglenn Mici Italian at 2330 East Arapahoe Road, #909 will be located at the intersection of University and Arapahoe. The restaurant will sport the brand’s new look, including a new logo and comfortable, revamped interior design.

Replacing a Smashburger, the new store will seat 120 seats, including 45 outdoor and a dedicated to-go area. The Southglenn Mici Italian restaurant will provide delivery to an area with approximately 40,000 households, the fast casual estimates.

“Southglenn has always been at the top of our list of markets here in Colorado into which we would like to expand,” commented Elliot Schiffer, chief executive of Mici Italian. “It is a growing, thriving community and a perfect fit for both our food (family recipe pizza and pasta) and our style of service (fast casual with delivery).”

Mici began franchising in 2019, developing a pipeline of 50 units, encompassing the markets of Phoenix, Detroit and Dallas. In addition, the first franchise unit, opening in Phoenix, is slated to open this summer.

Bolstering its leadership team in preparation for expansion, Mici added Joe Melton as chief operating officer in 2018 and Matt Stanton as chief growth officer in 2021.
