Chester’s Honey Stung Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Bites roll out

Fried-chicken QSR to keep ‘sweet heat’ additions on menu through September

Chester’s Chicken, a fried-chicken QSR, introduced Honey Stung Chicken Sandwich and Honey Stung Chicken Bites. The limited-time additions offer up double-breaded and fried fresh chicken that is “sauced and tossed” in Frank’s RedHot Stingin’ Honey Garlic Sauce.

As consumers have been open to trying spicier menu options, restaurant chains have responded. Chester’s Chicken is no exception as it cites data from Datassential MenuTrends 2021, indicating spicy chicken sandwiches appear on 55% of QSR menus.

Chester’s Honey Stung Chicken blends the flavors of honey and garlic flavor with the heat of Frank’s RedHot to create a profile that more consumers are seeking, announced the 1,200-unit restaurant chain.

The Chester’s Honey Stung Chicken follows the spring rollout of new Hot N Spicy Poultry Rub, which, when paired with Chester’s Hot N Spicy Breading, augmented the heat and flavor on its Bone-In Chicken and all-white-meat Super Tenders, noted the QSR. It also said its Super Tenders are twice the size of tenders at other QSRs.

“We’ve already staked claim that we’ve been making the juiciest, crunchiest chicken on the planet for decades,” said William Culpepper, vice president of marketing, Chester’s Chicken. “We’re now turning up the heat with our new extra spicy seasoning as well as fan-favorite Honey Stung Chicken, available this summer only to add a kick to the road trip season.”

The Chester’s Honey Stung Chicken Sandwich and Chicken Bites will remain on the menu through Labor Day.
