Fuzzy’s Taco Shop inks deal for Utah expansion, grows Colorado market

Four-unit deal for Utah, Colorado helps Baja-style taco chain develop presence in 20 states

Fuzzy’s Taco Shop secured a four-unit development agreement for expansion into Utah, as well as growth in its Colorado market. The deal with franchise partner John Cassity will set a new milestone for the number of states in which Fuzzy’s operates.

With 150 total locations, including company stores, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop plans new units in Alabama and Utah, expanding its presence to 20 states.

“John is a highly qualified and experienced restaurant operator who we know will maintain the integrity of the brand and Fuzzy’s culture,” says Paul Damico, chief executive of Fuzzy’s Taco Shop.

The first two openings coming out of the Fuzzy’s Taco Utah expansion deal will put stores in Grand Junction, Colorado and St. George, Utah in the second half of this year. Additional locations will arrive in Utah soon afterward.

Cassity commented, “When I was looking at concepts to complement my existing brand portfolio Fuzzy’s Taco Shop kept checking off all the boxes for me. What really impressed me was their flexible footprint which can be tailored to each specific space and market.”

Fuzzy’s serves up Baja-style tacos, chips and queso and cold beverages, including margaritas, at an affordable price.
