Masters of Meat Smokey Bones opens in Utica, Michigan

New restaurant features dedicated to-go area with separate waiting area

Masters of Meat Smokey Bones expanded with a new opening in Utica, Michigan, a northern suburb of Detroit. The location at 45001 Schoenherr Road features a sweeping central bar in the interior.

Visually, its new design shows the next step in the evolution of the restaurant. Executives sought to create a more intimate dining experience. Plus, as previously announced, the separate vestibule for to-go orders in this design includes a dedicated entrance and separate menu board—a testament to consumer appetite for takeout food. Also in the to-go section, Smokey Bones created a dedicated waiting area in addition to reserved to-go parking.

“We are thrilled to open our newest location in Utica, as we continue to expand our footprint and bring our meat mastery to more communities,” said James O’Reilly, chief executive of Smokey Bones. “We look forward to welcoming our new neighbors to our ‘protein candy store’ and sharing some of our hand-crafted cocktails together.”

Smokey Bones’ two virtual brands, The Wing Experience and Burger Experience, benefit from expanded space in the back of the house. What’s more, the layout provides an opportunity for the expansion of the virtual-brands portfolio in the future.
