Freddy’s Frozen Custard names new COO, vice president of finance

Brian Wise to head operations while Jerry Kunz leads FP&A, budgeting, forecasting

Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers named Brian Wise chief operating officer (COO) and Jerry Kunz vice president of finance. Wise comes from the franchise side of the business, having worked with Freddy’s franchise group for 15 years. Kunz arrived from First Watch Restaurants, where he served as director of finance & treasury.

During the past year, Wise spearheaded initiatives for the fast-casual chain that led to delivering technology & operational improvements as he headed up the restaurant innovation team. As COO, he will oversee the Freddy’s training team and the operations of both franchise and corporate stores.

Kunz has served as Freddy’s VP of finance, specializing in financial planning & analysis, budgeting, forecasting, corporate & operational finance, and business intelligence reporting.
