Three executives hired; James Holguin promoted to regional vice president, operations
MOD Pizza promoted Becky Mulligan to chief restaurant officer and named Stephen Blum chief development officer. Mulligan fills the newly-created role as the fast-casual pizza chain hires three new executives. According to a company statement, these moves will strengthen the brand in franchising, culinary and operational excellence.
Mulligan finished her first year at MOD Pizza in which she led the field operations and excellence teams for 440+ company units. In her elevated and expanded role, she will also oversee the franchise business of MOD Pizza.
Reporting to CEO Scott Sevenson, Blum joins MOD as the company’s first chief development officer. In the role, he will oversee store development functions, which include real estate, store design, construction, facilities, and portfolio management. Blum brings to MOD Pizza over twenty years of store development experience. Blum’s career has benefited from work for Panera Bread, Panda Restaurant Group and Au Bon Pain. Plus, he was senior vice president, real estate, and facilities at Hertz.

Furthermore, the 520-unit fast casual announced three new executives hires:
- MOD named Cynthia Richardson vice president, franchising. Richardson will lead the team that supports all franchise, non-traditional and international operations. She will report to Becky Mulligan.
- Scott Uehlein joined MOD as vice president, culinary excellence and innovation. In this role, he will lead the culinary team in menu development and innovation. Uehlein brings three decades of restaurant experience, including at Sonic Drive-In, and will report to Mark Shambura, chief marketing officer.
- MOD Pizza also named Ben Coarde regional vice president, operations, overseeing the Eastern Region. Coarde previously spent over 14 years with Starbucks, most recently as a regional director responsible for 115 stores.
Moreover, James Holguin, a seven-year veteran for the company, is the new regional vice president, operations. In this role, Holguin will be responsible for the Western half of the United States.

They are all industry veterans who bring decades of experience to the leadership team and who will help us continue to support our people and product as we further our growth trajectory, on and off premise.”
