Focus Brands names former Church’s Chicken exec SVP of OPS, restaurant category

Brendan Berg to lead umbrella OPS group team, supporting Auntie Anne’s, Carvel, Cinnabon, Jamba, McAlister’s Deli, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Schlotzky’s

Focus Brands named Brendan Berg SVP of operations for the restaurant category. The 40-year industry veteran comes to the franchisor of Auntie Anne’s, Jamba, Moe’s Southwest Grill, among other quick-serve chains, from Church’s Chicken. Berg has had the experience of working his way up from team member to executive leadership ranks.

As SVP of operations, Berg will lead the restaurant category operations team. This group focuses on providing efficient operations solutions, said Focus Brands, boosting store-level profitability and elevating the guest experience across the seven brands within the Focus Brands portfolio.

At Church’s Chicken, Berg served as SVP of US franchise operations and global operations services, overseeing all aspects of franchise operations. There, he also introduced efficient restaurant management systems worldwide. Prior to joining Church’s Chicken, Berg worked at Burger King for almost three decades. During his tenure, Berg worked in the learning and development, training and field support departments across Burger King’s domestic and international restaurants.

Focus Brands operates and franchises more than 6,400 restaurants across the Auntie Anne’s, Carvel, Cinnabon, Jamba, McAlister’s Deli, Moe’s Southwest Grill, and Schlotzsky’s restaurant brands.
