Walk On’s Sports Bistreaux names Scott Taylor CEO

Founder Brandon Landry transitions to chairman of Board of Directors

Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux named Scott Taylor CEO. The founder of the sports bar chain, Brandon Landry, promoted the executive to the top post. Taylor had been serving as Walk-On’s president and COO since 2010.

Landry now transitions to the role of chairman of the Board of Directors. Landry and Taylor are credited with building a culture and team that delivers best-in-class results, according to an announcement. Walk-On’s has grown to become a chain of 75 restaurants spanning 13 states.

Coincidentally, Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux recently earned Entrepreneur magazine #1 Sports Bar Franchise recognition. In addition, 2015 marked the year Drew Brees became co-owner of the brand. Walk-On’s specializes in Louisiana cuisine, upscale sports bar fare and American classics. AUVs have grown to over $5M. What’s more, private equity firm 10 Point Capital invested in the restaurant chain in 2020.

“Over the past 12 years, Scott and I have built a culture and team that is focused on delivering best-in-class support and results for our franchise partners,” said Landry. “He is the natural choice to assume the CEO reins as the brand enters its 20th year.”

Taylor commented, “It has been an honor to work alongside such a passionate founder to build this incredible brand. I look forward to leading the continued growth of our team and franchise family, and bringing the Walk-On’s experience to more guests across the country.”

Taylor’s contributions extend beyond his leadership role at Walk-On’s. He sits on advisory boards for the Louisiana Restaurant Association and the Restaurant Leadership Conference. In addition, he serves as the incoming chair for the college of Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management at the University of Florida.
