New layout features smaller kitchen as chain focuses on growth
Slider-chain Krystal unveiled a new, compact prototype at Center Point, Alabama January 10. The concept design features 1,700 square feet and an advanced design and smaller footprint. The opening of the restaurants marks the first in six years with a new design.
The enhanced layout of the Center Point Alabama Krystal uses 20% less kitchen spaces, while it realizes more efficiencies, according to Krystal.
“This prototype signals a new day for Krystal,” said Thomas Stager, the President of Krystal Restaurants, who was been turning around the business with new partners, innovative menu development and an emphasis on new technologies. “We strategically sought more cost efficient opportunities to generate a strong sales-to-investment outcome, as well as a design to fast track franchise development.”
The grand opening of the Center Point Krystal was held January 10. The event offered the first 200 guests in line with free Krystals for one week, as well as fun games and giveaways.
Krystal continues to expand beyond its core Southeast markets The new prototype offers a more modern and smaller format, as the chain looks to grow its franchise-centric footprint.
