Quick-service restaurant chains are amping up their promotions and limited-time offerings during the Halloween season. Burger King is introducing a nightmarish burger called the Nightmare KIng, intended and “clinically proven” to induce increased nightmares. The Nightmare King sandwich contains a quarter-pound flamed-grilled beef patty, 100-percent white meat crispy chicken fillet, melted cheese, thick-cut bacon, mayo and onions on a glazed green sesame seed bun.
ezCater is bolstering is executive suite with new hires after a $100M Series D round of financing. It has named James Rosenstock as chief strategy officer, while tapping Mike O’Hanlon for the ezCater chief sales officer role. The company is quickly positioning itself for growth. This follows the acquisition of Paris-based GoCater. As chief strategy officer, Rosenstock will lead financial, international and corporate development for ezCater.

ezCater announced a new Human Resources executive to support the growth of the rapidly-rising business catering marketplace on the heels of its acquisition of Paris-based Go Cater, a corporate catering ordering and spend-management platform. Janine Allo has been named Chief People and Culture Officer. She comes to ezCater with 25 years of experience helping organizations grow in a changing environment. Allo was recently VP of Global Talent at Flex International, and there she helped the company grow amid a transformation and rebranding initiatives.
omano’s Macaroni Grill continues to build on its sales momentum with a new brunch menu, on the heels of launching its Mix and Match and Unlimited Soup lunch specials. The new brunch menu was communicated through an email blast to customers in late July. The new Macaroni Grill brunch menu is being served until 4 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday. Diners can get a jump on weekend brunch on Sundays, when the Italian-style chain is opening at 10 a.m.
Cheesecake Factory celebrates National Cheesecake Day with half-price promotion, two decadent new flavors
The Cheesecake Factory announced a promotion during National Cheesecake Day, which is celebrated Monday July 30. For its guests dining in (only), the chain will offer half-price slices at all of its restaurants across the country. All 197 restaurants in the United States will be participating in the celebration, and guests are getting their shot at any one of over 30 flavors. Additionally, Cheesecake Factory is debuting two new cheesecake varieties: Very Cherry Ghirardelli Chocolate Cheesecake and Cinnabon Cinnamon Swirl Cheesecake.
As it moves to further reinvigorate its business, Romano’s Macaroni Grill has launched a new menu and lunch specials, which include a limited-time lunch pass to save guests money. The 85-unit Italian-style casual-dining chain launched the Macaroni Grill Mix and Match (Mix + Match) program, whereby customers can combine any two options on the menu for under $11, or for the same price, they can choose the Unlimited Soup and Salad (Soup + Salad) Program... customers can purchase a Mix and Match lunch pass for $75, giving them access to complimentary lunch for the entire month of August 2018.
