Marble Slab Creamery is headed to Cairo thanks to a new development agreement with Menafex LLC. The franchise agreement brokered by its parent, Fat Brands, calls for 10 stores to open in Egypt over the next decade. The first store coming out of this deal will open in late 2023 in Cairo, according to current planning.

Sonic Drive-In debuted a Churro Shake, capitalizing on the popularity of the dessert. In addition, the QSR chain also started offering crispy churros for $1.49 on its Summer Snacking Menu. Plus, Sonic returned Bursting Bubbles in its fizzy Cherry Burst and icy Cherry Burst Slush, and as a beverage add-on.
Caribou Coffee named Matthew Walls chief franchise officer. He will be the first in the new role at the coffee-shop chain, part of Panera Brands. Walls will lead Caribou’s franchise businesses on the domestic and international fronts, as well as join the executive leadership team.
